2010 Springfield in Bloom

Springfield in Bloom recently recognized the 2010 winners in six different categories for their local beautification efforts. On August 3, Mayor Davlin presented awards to individuals, businesses, and not-for profit organizations as part of the city’s participation in the sixth annual contest sponsored by Springfield Green and the Illinois Times. Three of the winners are within the boundaries of the Enos Park. Springfield Electric received a first place award in the category of Business Makeover Gardens and Ronald McDonald House and Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery both received special recognition in the Nonprofit Gardens category. The EPNIA congratulates these three organizations for their efforts to beautify Enos Park and we hope that other businesses and residents will consider participating next year.

EPNIA Paintbrush Awards

Every month the Enos Park Neighborhood Improvement Association accepts nominations for the “Paintbrush” award. Then in January of the following year, the EPNIA board members combine all of the winners from the previous year and vote on who should receive the “Golden Paint Brush Award” in February.

Some of our past winners can be found at the bottom of the page in PDF format. Click HERE to view and print our nomination form.

April 2008

house renovation

We would like to feature one of Enos Park’s newest renovations. This beautiful Victorian is located at 923 N. 6th Street (6th and Enterprise), and was recently restored to its former grandeur by Old Neighborhood Rehab, Inc. and Fletcher Farrar. Built in 1859, it is an excellent example of the character and charm that Enos Park has to offer while affording all the modern conveniences of today’s newer homes.

Streetscape Award

The streetscape award goes to EPNIA for its efforts to create a visual link with the downtown historic area with a ribbon of lights from the historic street and sidewalk lighting.
