January 12, 2016 Membership Meeting

The meeting will be January 12, at 7 pm.

Floyd Mansberger of Fever River Research conducted a historical and archaeological survey of the Enos Park neighborhood in 1997. He will discuss his research and our plans to update the study and make it accessible electronically.

The meeting will be held at Third Presbyterian Church at Bergen & N 7th.

Childcare will be provided.

December 8, 2015 Membership Meeting

2015 Lincoln Funeral Reenactment DVDThe meeting will be December 8, at 7 pm. It we be held at Third Presbyterian Church at Bergen & N 7th.

Our guest speaker for December will be Dean Williams, a professional photographer and videographer. In addition to photographing weddings and special events, Dean has also done still photographs for more than 150 major motion pictures and TV productions. He worked with the City of Springfield and the Central Illinois Film Commission to produce a DVD documenting the 150th anniversary of the Lincoln Funeral Procession. He will be sharing clips from this video with us, which will include footage of the procession in the Enos Park neighborhood.

We will also be having elections for the 2016 board of directors as well as voting on revisions to our by-laws. All dues paying members are eligible to vote.

Childcare will be provided.

September 8, 2015 Membership Meeting

Karen Davis, the new Economic Development Director for Springfield, will be our speaker.

The meeting will be September 8, at 7 pm. It we be held at Third Presbyterian Church at Bergen & N 7th.

August 11, 2015 Membership Meeting

Ken Mitchell, a local author who has written four books and several shorter pieces, will be the guest speaker at our membership meeting on Tuesday, August 11 at 7 pm. He will be talking about his most recent book, “North-End Pride—The Story of Lanphier High School, Its People and Community”. Ken is a native North-Ender and has researched and written about Lanphier High and the people and businesses of the North End.

The meeting will be held at Third Presbyterian Church. Childcare will be provided.

July 14 Ice Cream Social!

On Tuesday, July 14 at 7pm our neighborhood will be gathering at Gehrmann Park for an old fashioned ice cream social instead of our regular meeting that night.

Ice cream, toppings and root beer (for floats!) and paper products will be provided.

Please bring drinks and snacks to share.

If you have a fun outdoor game (like bags, washers, etc) bring that along as well!

We will provide a brief update on various projects and activities that have been happening and coming up in the neighborhood.

June 8, 2015 Membership Meeting

Grady Chronister will be the guest speaker. He will be announcing a new partnership between Qik n Ez and EPNIA.

May 12, 2015 Membership Meeting

Erika Holst from the Springfield Art Association will speak on the future of Edwards Place, which recently re-opened to the public after a 10 month restoration. She will also provide an update on the SAA’s master plan for their campus.

The meeting will be held May 12, 2015 at 7 p.m. at Third Presbyterian Church. Childcare will be provided.

April 14, 2015 Membership Meeting

Abby Walden from Public Works will be our guest speaker at the April membership meeting and she will talk to us about the city’s plans for yard waste and branch pick up, how to dispose of bulk items, and an upcoming hazardous waste collection. We are also working with the City to get garbage and recycling containers strategically placed throughout the neighborhood, just like they have downtown.

March 10, 2015 Membership Meeting

Hear about plans for the expanded Neighborhood Gardens on 5th and a new urban garden site on 4th St.

Learn about plans for a spring clean up to prepare for the Lincoln Funeral Procession the first weekend of May and how you can help with the festivities that weekend as it comes through our neighborhood.

February 10, 2015 Membership Meeting – Ward 5 Aldermanic Forum

The three candidates for alderman in Ward 5 (Sam Cahnman, Andrew Proctor, and Dominic Watson) will be taking part in a forum to share their views and ideas for revitalizing Enos Park and the City of Springfield. Members of the audience will have a chance to submit questions for the candidates. Bob Gray, president of the Citizen’s Club, will serve as the moderator.

The meeting will be held on February 10th, at Third Presbyterian Church. The EPNIA business meeting will be held from 7-7:30 p.m. and the forum will be held from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
