March 8, 2016 Membership Meeting

The meeting will be March 8, at 7 pm at Third Presbyterian Church at Bergen & N 7th.

Our guest speaker will be Kent Massie. He will be discussing plans for streetscaping and infrastructure improvements along Enos Avenue as we seek to transform it into the “Avenue of the Arts.”

Childcare will be provided.

February 9, 2016 Membership Meeting

January 12, 2016 Membership Meeting

The meeting will be January 12, at 7 pm.

Floyd Mansberger of Fever River Research conducted a historical and archaeological survey of the Enos Park neighborhood in 1997. He will discuss his research and our plans to update the study and make it accessible electronically.

The meeting will be held at Third Presbyterian Church at Bergen & N 7th.

Childcare will be provided.

December 8, 2015 Membership Meeting

2015 Lincoln Funeral Reenactment DVDThe meeting will be December 8, at 7 pm. It we be held at Third Presbyterian Church at Bergen & N 7th.

Our guest speaker for December will be Dean Williams, a professional photographer and videographer. In addition to photographing weddings and special events, Dean has also done still photographs for more than 150 major motion pictures and TV productions. He worked with the City of Springfield and the Central Illinois Film Commission to produce a DVD documenting the 150th anniversary of the Lincoln Funeral Procession. He will be sharing clips from this video with us, which will include footage of the procession in the Enos Park neighborhood.

We will also be having elections for the 2016 board of directors as well as voting on revisions to our by-laws. All dues paying members are eligible to vote.

Childcare will be provided.

September 8, 2015 Membership Meeting

Karen Davis, the new Economic Development Director for Springfield, will be our speaker.

EPNIA Home Tour and Edwards Place Fine Art Fair – Saturday, September 19, 1-5pm

EPNIA Home Tour, Fall 2015, September 19, 1-5 pm.The annual Enos Park Home Tour will be held on Saturday, September 19 from 1-5 p.m.

The Home Tour is a self-guided tour of historic homes in Springfield’s oldest neighborhood, some already beautifully renovated and others needing a new owner to bring them back to life.

A wine and cheese reception will be held from 4-7 p.m. in the sculpture garden near Susie Q’s. The building at 711 Enos Ave. will also be open for tours (Enos between 7th & 8th St.).

Edwards Place Fine Art Fair

Edwards Place Fine Art FairAlso happening on September 19-20 is the 27th Annual Edwards Place Fine Art Fair, featuring 70+ artists, live music, food trucks, a children’s station, and artist demos.

The Fine Art Fair will be:

August 11, 2015 Membership Meeting

Ken Mitchell, a local author who has written four books and several shorter pieces, will be the guest speaker at our membership meeting on Tuesday, August 11 at 7 pm. He will be talking about his most recent book, “North-End Pride—The Story of Lanphier High School, Its People and Community”. Ken is a native North-Ender and has researched and written about Lanphier High and the people and businesses of the North End.

The meeting will be held at Third Presbyterian Church. Childcare will be provided.

National Night Out August 4, 2015, Enos Park Pavilion

Join Us to Celebrate National Night Out 2015 on Tuesday, August 4 from 5-8 pm at the Enos Park Pavilion (between 7th & 8th Sts.). National Night Out is an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activites, police-community partnerships, and neighborhood associations.

Activities will include:

  • Picnic dinner
  • Kids’ games and activities
  • Police K-9 unit demonstration
  • Informational tables from local not-for-profits

July 14 Ice Cream Social!

On Tuesday, July 14 at 7pm our neighborhood will be gathering at Gehrmann Park for an old fashioned ice cream social instead of our regular meeting that night.

Ice cream, toppings and root beer (for floats!) and paper products will be provided.

Please bring drinks and snacks to share.

If you have a fun outdoor game (like bags, washers, etc) bring that along as well!

We will provide a brief update on various projects and activities that have been happening and coming up in the neighborhood.
